This is an old trick - hammer several copper nails into the tree trunk around the base of the tree. Trust me - it will die. But the bigger the tree, the longer it'll take.I want to kill a tree; will nails hammered into it do the job?
If you put nails into the tree and then have to saw it down with a chain saw, be careful!
Drill several holes in the stump and poor kerosene in the wholes everyday for a week. The tree wont grow back.

How do you CLEAN my puppy's nails?
My dogs nails are dirty, what products can i use to scrub all the dirt off?How do you CLEAN my puppy's nails?
cut their feet off, silly! that way they dont have nails that need to be cleaned! How do you CLEAN my puppy's nails?
Are his nails long? You could cut them short and some of the dirt will be gone with the nail.
just use regular dog shampoo with a nail scrubber
use a baby wipe...wet paper towel...soap and water...same things you would use if your nails were dirty.

Purples, browns, metallics are good for this season.
Gems/jewels look a bit tacky.
Dark colors are ALWAYS popular in the fall, so if you want to be different try a mid tone like metallic lavender with a plum tip.

How can i grow my hair and nails faster?
some people say vitamins but which ones ?! i got a really bad hair cut and i neeeed to grow my hair out and im so nervous to go back to school so i want atleast a 3 or 4 day head start on faster growing. and if you say healthy vitamins, can yout ell me which ones ? thanks a bunch !How can i grow my hair and nails faster?
Try trace minerals. Those will seriously help grow hair stronger and faster. Do a scalp massage daily.
Drink lots of water and consider taking a biotin supplement, as well as iron if you are deficient. The B-vitamins are important for that as well.
You can't make hair grow superfast, but you can help it grow better and as quickly as your hair is designed to grow. In other words, all you can do is make your body function as best as it can....you can't make miracles happen. How can i grow my hair and nails faster?
Sleep more often
prenatal vitamins are the fastest and most effective way of doing this. they are obviously good for you! or ...calcium supplements are good for this and vitamin e is very good for your nails. good luck!
Pre Natal vitamins (a generic store brand works fine) and drink a lot of milk.
There are womens vitamins for healthy hair and nails. It says that specifically on the bottle. You can get it at GNC or you can even get some at Wal-Mart. Good luck!
eat more vitamins, like fresh veggies and fruits
comb your hair like 10 times a day, but don't comb hard
(use the comb to ';massage'; your head)
protien helps you hair and nails grow.
you can take a pill called biotin. you can but it at whole foods, the vitamin shop, GNC, maybe the super market. It makes your nails and hair grow really ffast....
if its in your budget use hair pieces or hair extensions
preotein and try ';triple flex'; from nature made. Nature Made a vitamin company and their product ';triple flex'; is designed to help your joints but it contains ingredients that could make your hair and nails to grow faster.
prenatal vitamins. they work for men and women
Nioxin shampoo is for thinning hair.
There's nothing that'll make your hair grow faster. There is a product by Nature's Bounty called Hair, Skin %26amp; Nails. It's mostly calcium and it's for stronger nails, healthy hair %26amp; skin. It won't make your hair grow. You can get it at the grocery store or a drugstore. It's reasonably priced.
Use Nioxin!
Hey i use these vitamins called ONE SOURCES there for hair, skin and nails.
I also use another one called Natural B-50.
They work.
My Doctor recently put me on Vitamin E. But it also help my hair and nails grow faster and stronger. I have always had weak nails and now I have long very pretty nails. My hair has grown 4 inches in 6 weeks. GOOD LUCK!!!recipes cream

What can i do to make my nails stronger?
hi i would love to have long nails. i dont bite them but my nails are so soft that they will flake or bend then snap! i have tried using nail hardeners but does nothing! anyone know how i can make my nails stronger? i wear nail varnish a few layers so it might help get stronger but doesnt really work! What can i do to make my nails stronger?
push your cuticles back and use a good quality cuticle oil which you should rub into your nails as well - do this everyday
Regularily cut your nails so they grow back stronger
Use a clear nail varnish and apply a couple of coats
Dont use acetone nail varnish remover (use a sensitive or acetone free one)What can i do to make my nails stronger?
I started drinking half a pint of milk a day (preferably full fat) to help my bones. 6 months ago I shattered my leg and am now awaiting surgery. Before my accident my nails were rubbish, but now they're really strong! It must be the milk!
I just started using something from Wal-Mart. It has calcium in it. It wasn't much money. It's just in the nail section. I can tell an improvement in my nails. You should try it.
Same problem here until I stated using OPI polish. Get the glitter kind to start and just keep putting it on whenever it flakes, and change it totally every week to week and half. Trust me, it works!
If you put lotion on your hands with Vitamin E at least 3 times per day and massage the lotion into your cuticle and push your cuticles back your nails will harden overnight and will grow over a period of time
you can always wear clear nail polish over your nails, so instead of your nails breaking, the nail polish will chip
Try using a nail file and file in the same direction (not back-n-forth). I don't have the patience but my best friend did that and her nails got super strong.

Is it better to do your own nails than going to a salon?
Not only does it save you money but it's also cleaner and safer. Is it better to do your own nails than going to a salon?
it depends how u like yer nails done.
i would personally go to a salon.
knowing how i do my own nails.....
it aint pretty =] hahaha
but yeahh i would go to a salon. Is it better to do your own nails than going to a salon?
It saves money,I do my own at home
well, it is less expensive, but in most -- if not all -- states, nail salons and nail technicians have to be licensed, and the salons are usually inspected.
so, i would say, go to a salon to get your nails done...they know how to do it right, they have the training, the licensing and the inspection
if u are really good at that...it`s OK to do it at home...if not....no!
Do your own nails and save a ton of money not to mention not being exposed to someone else's nail fungus.

Fool proof way to grow long & strong nails that stay healthy?
Okay, I've been biting my nails since I was about two years old. I have just taken off some acrylics that I've been wearing for seven months, because I want to give my real nails a chance to grow healthy.
The last time I tried this was during my pregnancy when I was taking the vitamins. They grew, but they were incredibly weak and thin. So thin, in fact, that they didn't even break. They actually ripped. I could bend them easily- I'd fold them right over and not even bat an eyelash.
I've tried some over the counter strengtheners, and I've tried drinking milk until my eyeballs were floating! I even tried the Knox gelatin thing for a while, but it was too gross, and I stopped before I could see if it was really doing anything.
Can anyone give me some tips on how to help my nails grow long and strong after years of damage?? Thanks!Fool proof way to grow long %26amp; strong nails that stay healthy?
Well my nails would never grow but you know I started to take good care of them without spending much. I only bought the miracle grow polish I think thats the name not sure. You can find it in WalMart or Target and just put it on every day and trim the ends of your nails but let them grow though just trim the ends so that they get a good nice shape and you'll see how in one week they will grow a lot. That's what I do and always have nice nails. Buy the clear polish. Hope this helped.Fool proof way to grow long %26amp; strong nails that stay healthy?
I nailbite too...been doing it ever since. i haven't gotten the chance to get over that habit till now. anyway, i heard from a friend that garlic can help strengthen your nails. i checked this out in the internet and maybe you'd be interested in reading this article:

i use to bite now i dont and my nails are long juss dont bite them they will growmy nails were bendy and stuff but now they are really strong let them grow=)
I have been a nail biter all my life. Have bitten them since I was old enough to put my fingers in my mouth (once I got teeth). I have tried everything even sitting on my hands to keep them outta my mouth. One thing that will help strengthen them is clear nail polish. I don't use the hard as nails, but I hear that is pretty good, I just use good ole clear nail polish.
Of course, now that I am over the hill and have a full set of dentures, I don't bite them anymore, lol.
Hope this helps ya.

Can I go to a nail salon and get my acrylic nails removed then have them put new ones on?
One broke off by itself and some others are cracking, but they are still stuck on pretty tightly. Can they remove them at the salon and put new ones on right after that? and how much would that cost? Can I go to a nail salon and get my acrylic nails removed then have them put new ones on?
It would cost thje same amount as a full set. They will do whatever you tell them too. But it does ache a little afterCan I go to a nail salon and get my acrylic nails removed then have them put new ones on?
Working in the field I would suggest taking them off yourself... It's really simple. Pour two bowls of acetone, place bowls of HOT water under the acetone bowls (like a double boiler), soak both hands for 15 minutes without removing, then scrap off as much acrylic as you can, replace in acetone and continue till it's all gone. It's less expensive to do it yourself and you can manage how much pressure is put on your nails.
Indeed you can get new ones put on! But just to warn you, your real nails will be extremely brittle- and the more you keep getting them redone right away, the less time they have to heal.
Although your fingers will be a little sore from them taking them off, they can put new ones on immediately. This should cost around the price of an average manicure (wherever you go) but maybe 5 dollars extra to remove the old acrylics. The place I go to wouldn't charge extra, but to each is own!
Of course you can have them removed! They will either soak them off with acetone, or use a tool to pop them off. They can remove them at any nail salon, but prices differ from place to place.
stop with the fake nails. Lets your real ones breath and put some strengthening polish from Sally Hansen on it. Not only are they not good for your nails (and expensive) they also are quite tacky imo
at my salon they will remove them for free and then replace them for the price of a new full set.

About how long does it take for nails to rust?
i want to do a science project with rusting nails. Which nails rust the fastest? how fast do they rust? Is there something else like coins that rusts faster? thx!About how long does it take for nails to rust?
Nails (or any other steel or iron without any plating, paint or other protective coating) will start to get rusty withing a few days if kept in a wet environment. Of course, this will be just a light coating, if you need heavy, scaling rust, it might take quite a while even with salt water.About how long does it take for nails to rust?
It would depend on what the nail was made out of and what it was exposed to. A nail will rust faster if it is used in a saltwater enviroment like a coastal area, than the same nail used in a dessert with little moisture. Maybe you could take a box of the same nails and put one in different solutions and see how they react. Put one in salt water, one in tap water, one in acid, also use one as a positive anode in electrolisis. Monitor the time and rates of rusting and deterioration. Or place different nails in the same solution and see which rusts first and how badly.
Not sure how long it takes. But I guess you can find out!
Do not use coins, they contain copper and are not going to rust.
Do not use galvanized nails as they are coated to prevent rusting.
Do not use dipped nails, as they are coated to prevent rusting.
Get a ';standard'; nail (indoor use, not outdoor use) for your experiment.
Compare speed to rust with plain water and salt water to see if one rusts faster. (one will rust faster).recipes cream

Is it ok to trim a puppys nails?
Is it ok to trim a puppys nails and if so how do you do it? My mastiff has sharp nails, He stays in the house and I am afraid he might scratch my kids. He has scratched me but not too bad, I do not have the money to take him to the vet right now or i would. Is it ok to trim a puppys nails?
Yes you should be trimming his nails. You can buy a nail trimmer from any pet store or even Walmart. If your puppy's nails are black it might be hard to see the ';quick'; so cut very little off. Also, if you call local groomers sometimes they will do nail cutting very cheaply - $5 usually around here if you want to take him over there and have someone else do it. Maybe if you bring your own nail clippers they can show you how to do it too so you can do it on your own after that. Also, if you walk him on hard surfaces (asphalt, sidewalk etc) his nails will wear themselves down somewhat as well. But the best thing is to trim them every other week or so. Its important to start now too so he's used to it as he grows up and doesn't fuss about it. Make sure to give him treats and praise when you do it!Is it ok to trim a puppys nails?
Yes. The earlier the better that you start with your puppy...especially with a large bred puppy like a Masiff. You'll be teaching him to let you touch his feet which is extremely important. Just barely clip them so you don't hit the quick. You want to keep the situation as pleasant to him as possible or he'll associate you with pain. I would clip every two weeks and give him treats either at the end or between clipping each nail. Good luck with your big puppy. It's so much better to do this yourself then taking him somewhere else anyways.
It is ok, but you have to be very carefull not to cut into the skin inside his nails. Usually pet refuges and the humane society perform these and sometimes even have a vet for a fraction of the price of a regular vet. It is very tricky and if cut it bleeds a lot so Id try and make some calls to pet associations in your area so you can at least see how they do it and have them recommend the correct pet nail cutter for your dog before you do it by yourself. For reference, I live in Tampa and took my found puppy dog to the animal shelter and they provided a vet ($15), clipped the nails for free, and gave me the medication and shampoo for a skin problem ';Cooney'; was having ($20).
Keep a bar of plain soap beside you while you cut the puppy's nails. If your puppy is very young, then use regualr nail clippers. If the nails are stronger, use dog clippers (at just about any pet store, or Wal Mart) If you happen to accidently cut the quick (the vein in the dogs nail) then scrape the bleeding nail across the soap. This will stop the bleeding. Good Luck
Yes. You can buy a special set of clippers made for cutting dog's toenails. It isn't hard unless the dog objects to it.
It's okay to trim their nails but it's a lot of work and you have to buy a special dog nail clipper of you could seriously hurt your dog
you can clip them. if he is still very young his nails should be very weak. if so, use a regular nail clippper. if they are developed and strong, use a dog nail clipper. either way, just be sure you don't go as far down as the vein that runs through the center of the nail. they bleed a lot.
You can clip them yourself. If he's a pup, you might be able to use fingernail clippers, but you'll eventually need dog nail-clippers (at any pet store or mass merchandiser like Walmart). Be sure not to clip the qwik as it will bleed and make the dog fear future nail-trims. My dog used to be great till I nicked her once. She has NEVER let me touch her paws since. Its a fight even at the groomers. If the nails are white/clear, you can see the qwik but it's more difficult if they're black nails. If so, you can see the qwik from underneath (if you can get the paw at that angle).
The bigger pet stores and any grooming salon will do nails. Around here they charge $8 to $10 to do it.
You want to clip them regularly (whether you do it or have someone else do it) because indoor dogs don't wear them down like outside dogs do and it can cause problems. I actually read that BACK problems can be caused by it... cuz once they're too long, they walk differently and it throws everything out of whack. Plus, if they grow a long time, it seems (from my experience) like the qwik grows too... so then you CANT clip them as short as you can if you don't let that happen.
It's perfectly fine to trim your puppies nails. You want to watch out because there are nerves that run through the puppy's nails (The quick). Put the puppy in down and roll him over to back. Give him lots of belly rubbins. Don't get him to riled up or you won't be able to keep him there.
Once he's relaxed play with his paws a bit. You want him to get used to it. Some dogs HATE having thier feet touched. Play with his paws, and take your time to examine where the nerve is. If he has white nails you'll be able to see it pretty easily. If not just trim the tip of the nail. If you happen to snip the nerve put some baking flour on it to stop the bleeding. You won't need much.
When you're finished make sure to give him a special treat.
I groom my girls every day (brushing) Nail trim time comes and even though they are anxious the trust is there. They lay down and roll over themselves because they know when the deed is done they get cheese! LOL
Good Luck
Definitely - you should start cutting pups nails to get him used to it, so you can continue cutting them when he gets older.
Yes, you can trim them. If you never have before, I wouldn't advise you to do it. I am guessing his nails are black, so you can't see the blood line. Best advise would be to take him to Petsmart, the groomers will do it for $5. Ask them to show you were to cut, so you don't cut too short. Once you nick him a few times, he will become very ';Trim-shy'; and with a dog that big, it won't be a fun job.
They make special nail clippers for dogs.
Yes, but make sure you use a clipper designed to cut dog's nails. Don't use a human nail clipper.
Yes, it is okay to trim puppy nails. You can buy dog nail clippers at the pet store. Some dogs have a mark on their nails so you dog clip the nail in the quick. If you are unable to see the nail mark simply clip the puppies/dog's nail where it hooks.
you can but i wouldnt. the vet probably will cost as much if you did it yourself. if you dont know how and what your looking for, dont do it.
Yes!
You should start now trimming your puppys nails so he gets used to it and accepts it as routine.
If you don't trim a dogs nails and they don't get enough exercise on an abrasive surface (like pavement) their nails will grow to a painful length for them. I have see dogs with nails so long they curl under making it hard for them to walk!
Becareful when trimming nails. You don't want to cut to close to ';the quick'; and cause bleeding. You need a good pair of animal nail trimmers. . .not your regular human fingernail type.
Our dog is so frightened of getting her nails trimmed that we have to take her to the vet. My husband and I tried to do it ourselves but she struggles so much we can't hold her.
The vet charges us $20.00 and we get this done about every 4 to 6 weeks.
Good Luck!
Yes you can trim them, but only the little points on them. Be very carefull and use a human nail clippers and do it sideways so the nail is kindof flat in the nail clipper or you will get a rough edge. You can also just file them if the dog will let you.
Yes, in fact it is advisable. If you start now, he will let you clip them as he grows older. You will need to buy dog nail clippers from a pet supply store (NEVER use people clippers). Its pretty easy to do. If your dog has clear nails, just clip below the pink (that's a blood vessel). If your dog has black nails, you'll want to clip them about where they bend to grow vertical. The clippers should come with directions and will have a picture that illustrates that better. The hardest part is getting puppy to hold still!!
Yes, go to any store that sells pet supplies and get a pet nail trimmer. If you use regular nail clippers then his nails will split. Just trim off the point, if you go too deep you'll hit the cuticle and he will bleed.
he needs to exercise, if you're not walking him 45 mins a day, he is feeling miserable. mastiff are working dogs. let him run and walk along the sidewalk can grin those nails quite a bit.
also you need to train your dog to submit on their back, practice holding their feet so that they know that it is ok, do not trim their nails too far in, it hurts. also reward them for being submissive with a treat or peanut butter, so that they know that laying on their back and getting a nail trim will result in treats.
yes it's ok to trim yourself. Just take caution when doing so, there is a blood vessel underneath his nail, its called the quick. If you clip this AT ALL, he will bleed a lot. And then you will have bigger issues on your hands, like a ridiculous vet bill, for them to just dip his nail in baby powder.
Yes it is o.k. to trim them you can buy them fairly cheap depending on where you get them. You can also buy a file to file them after ward. You need dog nail clippers. Try Dollar General-Wal-Mart-Food-Lion did have them in the pet section. Or try a pet or animal food store. They are not real expensive. I took mine to get theirs trimmed once and they did a poor job and even trimmed them too close so i do it my self now. This was at a grooming place. When you trim them it is good to do so after a bath. Be sure that the little safety thing is on the inside so you do not trim too close. I need to give all mine a bath and trim theirs to either today or tomorrow. I guess if you can't find a pet file that you could use a regular file. Just take your time and try not to trim too close.
That vein everyone talks about it the hollow looking center of its nail. all you should do is clip right at the point, Just clip the very tip of the nail and you shouldnt have a problem. Look closley to see if you see the hollow spot. You shouldnt even need to clip that close to it. Just clip the point off and you will be good.
You can buy a nail clipper at a pet store. You must know the breed to know when to stop clipping. A dog's nails are tied to some serious nerve/blood endings and can result in disaster if not done right.
if there black, you need only nip off the very tip... nothing further, then get him a good walking on the sidewalk or cement. This will naturally file down the sharper points. If your afraid of cutting the nail get a emory board or a metal nail file and trying to file them into a smoother rounder nail Be aware a puppy isnt going to sit for a long period of time and you need some one to help you hold him. The local groomers and vet clinics can provide you some services for the price of a regular manicure if you dont want to do it at all.
there is a tool 2 use 2 clip their nails and yes it is ok as long as u don't cut them 2 short. Just enough so u they aren't sharp. go 2 a prt store and ask them 4 a nail clipper 4 dogs.
yes, it is perfectly fine. just take his paw and press in the center to make all of the nails stick out. when they are sticking out you should be able to see where it is clear. just clip a small amount at a time, dont cut too far back or it will hurt him and it will be hard to get him to let you do it in the future. its really not hard! good luck
no shut up
Yes you should be trimming his nails.

Is there REALLY anything that makes your nails grow faster and stronger?
Regarding polish.............. I'm trying some Sally Hansen stuff but I don't think it's working. I have some vitamins but they have such a bad taste, I'm nauseas for about an hour after I take them. Is there any ';polish'; that actually causes them to grow fast and strong? They are damaged from artificial nails, but my husbands grow so fast that he has to cut his once a week. WHy aren't mine growing that fast?Is there REALLY anything that makes your nails grow faster and stronger?
This may sound funny but take prenatal vitamins. They make your nails grow fast as well as very strong. Also they help your hair grow and stay thick. Is there REALLY anything that makes your nails grow faster and stronger?
try opi nail envy
just keeping polish on in general should help them. and keeping good care of them. try not to pick at them or file them down.
because you keep damaging them with artificial crap
dont try to grow them in vain, all you need is patience and they're renew themselves! its what our bodies are SUPPOSEd to do
yes i tried this new nitrogena nail something ro another it works great mynails are stringer and longer try it it just might work for you.

What solution can be used to kill nails?
When i went to a foot doctor for my ingrown toenail he cut the ingrown piece out and used a chemical ti kill the nais. now my other toe nail is also growing it so i was wondering what chemical do doctors use to kill it, because i cut the nail like my doctor did but it keeps growing back and is ery painful. P.S. i read online thea they use Phenol, which is 77% carboxylic acid, if this is true does anyone know where to buy it?What solution can be used to kill nails?
In the history of nail removal - 2 components are used commonly - phenol and 100% ethanol.
Both are toxic to cells - phenol is more damaging.
Phenol isn't commonly available because it is so toxic.
As far as self-application. Putting it on the nail won't help. It has to be applied on the 'nail matrix' where the nail is growing and forming. This involves a surgical procedure.
Got back to the Podiatrist and get the other nail treated.

(one will rust faster).

Well i got these really cute fake nails and i thought that?
they were stick on 1's that last for 3 days, but turns out they don't, they were glue on nails where you need glue, i have a regular glue stick but i know that's not going to help. WHAT DO I DO! i am not allowed to use glue or krazy glue or super glue cause it will ruin my nails and my parents would get mad.Well i got these really cute fake nails and i thought that?
Nail glue is a glue that will keep the nail on for a few days then will decompose and the nail will pull off. Go to the drug store in their ';nail'; section and get the nail glue.
Dont use a whole lot you only need one dot at the top and one at the bottom of your nail to keep them on.Well i got these really cute fake nails and i thought that?
Buy some nail glue from a drugstore. Be careful with how much you use, a drop is usually enough for each nail though I use two for the thumbs.
Go buy the cheapest fake nails at the store and use that glue.
get like the nail glue you can buy at walgreens

What color should I paint my toe nails?
Im going to the salon and Im picking out a color for my toes and finger nails.
I already know what Im getting for my fingers: Light neutral pink
need ideas for toes
nothing green or blue or sparklyWhat color should I paint my toe nails?
It is very tasteful to paint your toenails the same color but a shade or two darker than your fingernails. What color should I paint my toe nails?
ok i did a neutral pink when i went for my fingers and what i did for my toes were a light cream color that had no sparkles but like it had a shine and it glazed. When the sun hit it, It was cream and shined but then a light purple glazed in and it looked so pretty.I get them everytime i go.Unless i want my toes to match my outfit (but not really)
hope i helped!
How about light neutral pink to match the color you are having your nails done? Be sure to check out some of the stencil designs in airbrush that may be available over the base color. Some of them are quite beautiful!
I think a really pretty color for summer something fun and exciting like yellow or any pastel color that would be really cute.
A dark reddish/maroon color would look nice with light pink.
Mature in a way, but still playful.
A pretty Pink?
hot pink or red.
Can't go wrong with a red.
Hey both our names are Lily! Anyway you should get pink tips or French tips with just white. Cute cute
lilac purple.. that would be prettyyy :)

How to remove Professionally done fake nails?
I got my nails done professionally, I want them off but i don't have time to go get them off. How can i do it myself? How to remove Professionally done fake nails?
stick them in nail polish remover for a few minutes, and then try to gently snap them off. If it's difficult then put them back in the nail polish remover.
Good luck! How to remove Professionally done fake nails?
soak them in nail polish removed and then slide something in between your nail and the fake nail this is what they do in the salon i am warning you though your nail is going to look bad until it grows out
soak them in nail polish remover
soak them in acetone nail polish or you could pick at them...
The best way to remove your nails at home is to soak your fingers in acetone or acetone-containing nail polish remover for 15 minutes and then proceed to remove your nails gently from the cuticle up. You can use a clean fingernail file to do this. Be careful that you soak your nails long enough to loosen them and be careful when removing them. After removing them, consider soaking your nails in rubbing alcohol for 5-10 minutes to clean the nail bed area and do not forget to apply lotion to your nails to keep the skin around your cuticle healthy.

Which works better for strengthening your nails: Vaseline or vegetable oil?
my nails are weak and i';v heard both work but i want to know which works better. please help!, my nails are counting on u!Which works better for strengthening your nails: Vaseline or vegetable oil?
I haven't heard if vaseline or cooking oil will help strengthen your nails.
I have however heard anything with gelatin will improve the strength of your nails. So add jello or pudding to your diet and this will help.
If you need something a little faster I do like the Sally Hansen ';Hard as Nails'; nail products. You can find them at just about any store.Which works better for strengthening your nails: Vaseline or vegetable oil?
I've never heard of these two as nail strengtheners but I think the vegetable oil makes a little more sense. Try a Sally Hansen product (one comes in a gold bottle, I've used it and I liked it) and try not to wet your nails for extended periods of time. I've heard that vitamin E (biotin) is good for hair, skin and nails and make sure you're eating a well-balanced diet. Switch your nail polish remover to one without acetone and don't repaint them too frequently (once a week with touch-ups should suffice). Good luck! :]
Forget both. What you need is a vitamin supplement containing calcium and vitamin D. And make sure you're getting calcium through drinking milk and eating yogort.
Good luck!

Will soaking in acetone help remove uv gel nails?
Or do i need to get them taken off at the salon? Will soaking in acetone help remove uv gel nails?
You can take UV gel nails off yourself. Use pure acetone and soak them for 30 minutes or so. Nail polish remover is a bit too diluted and will take longer for it to work. Will soaking in acetone help remove uv gel nails?
soak in regular acetone, not nail polish remover. It will take about 30 minutes for it completely come off. You will need something to help scrap the nail off when it is soggy, so use a chop stick.

What is the best way to grow out nails from acrylics?
First, you must go to a professional manicurist and have them completely remove all of your acrylic materials. Then, it just takes patience- it took about three or four months for my nails to return to normal. Applying a good moisturizer daily to your hands will help, also make sure you keep your nails very short in the process- they will be thin and very weak at first and will break or tear if they are too long. What is the best way to grow out nails from acrylics?
Rubbing Olive oil over nails will not only strengthen your nails but also make them grow. And used away lemon peel will also help rub it over your nails. Include protein and calcium rich food in yor diet. What is the best way to grow out nails from acrylics?
In addtion to home nail care recommended above, buy and take a potent hair/nails vitamin. The acrylics did a lot of damage to your nails inside and out; the vitamins will give you the kind of nails you wanted when you went down the acrylic road only healthier, safer and happier.
I had a bad experience with acrylics. My nails are paper thin, and after removing them, my natural nails looked HORRIBLE. It takes about 5 or 6 months for my nails to get back to normal. But I have noticed (in addition to all the great advice above) that drinking more milk and adding calcium to your diet does help!
VITAMIN E
First you have to go and get them removed and the trick is to pamper them and treat them right! I care for them everyday and I have beautiful long nails...I put on a nail grower one coat for about 7-10 days and file them about every other day themn after that I use a nail stregthener every day and actone free nail polish remover so as not to weaken my nails!

How do you stop a habbit like bitting nails?
I bite my nails and i hate it but its a habbit how do i stop it? with out the gel stuffHow do you stop a habbit like bitting nails?
Try stopping gradually if you can't do it cold turkey. Only bite on one hand, then on one nail and eventually it'll inspire you to to quit, because it'll look uneven. Try keeping something around to play with everytime you want to bite your nails. A good nail polish works wonders too-that's the main reason I quit biting mine, because my parents finally told me I'd be allowed to wear nail polish if I quit. It was a good incentive. Occasionally I nibble now and then, but I've take up tic-tacs now, so when I want to chew, I take one and suck on it for bit. The urge eventually passes and my nails stay nice and happy. Good luck! I know it sounds weird but for about 1 month just hold on the a small pillow when you are doing stuff like watching T.V or when you usually bite your nails , I used to bite my nails so bad.......then my odcter told me that and I was like what?? and at first I didn't do it I was like thats not going to help and then I thaught what the hay so I tried and sure enough it worked!
Clear nail polish makes your nails stronger and harder to bite and if you chew gum or something like that then you will have something else to bite and when ever you notice yourself biting your nails slap yourself in the face to remind you to stop. It's crazy but it helped me.
i also bite my nails, and let me tell you no matter how many times ive tried to stop it never seems to work. But experts say the key is to put something that taste bad onto your nails to prevent you from chewing. something like, vasoline.
good luck
They sell a special type of nail polish that taste very bad, so when you bite your nails it will not tast good. Or you can play with a little toy in your hand so you will be distracted.
there is certain nail polish u can use...
my sister use to have this problem then she got fake nails an dshe got them off a while ago and she has stopped bitting them completely!!
put nail polish on with a clear coat.

Should regular nails be used to attach regular vinyl siding? Also, what causes siding to buckle and come loose
75 yars old housewith vinyl siding half-*** nailed over original wall material wit nofoam and is bukling n a lotof places as well as nails opping out after a year or two... ChicagoShould regular nails be used to attach regular vinyl siding? Also, what causes siding to buckle and come loose
I own a construction biz...use short nails with big heads, and don't nail them tight to the wall. leave them out a bit, so the vinyl can breath. The pieces were cut too long, that is why they are warping. Say the measurement is 10 inches, the piece of siding should be cut 91/2 inches to allow for movement. Foam is a must. It fills warped spots. You had a bad installer. Sue them. Don't listen to either of these peeps answers..they are wrong.Should regular nails be used to attach regular vinyl siding? Also, what causes siding to buckle and come loose
Oh my! What a mess. No dear you don't want to use regular nails, they will rust. If you want to use nails, use Electro-Galvanized, or a H.D.Galvanized. Those won't rust, and they make them in a Box and a Finish nail. You should attach the siding with a caulking made just for the installation of vinyl siding, along with the nails, and finish it off with a waterproof sealing caulk. That's why it buckled and was falling off. It wasn't installed the correct way,and wasn't finished off. Sounds like that was a quick,';Let's throw up some siding to sell the house faster'; kind of a job. I'm sorry some people are idiots. If everyone were to be more considerate of the next person,I might really be shocked! People don't care. So, if you plan to put more siding up, make sure you seal it good to prevent moisture damage. I better go ,Bye
You need 11/2'; nails with flat heads. The siding has not been installed properly. It should not move so much for actually a good 20 years!
I like to use 1'; roofing nails myself... they are long enough to grip easily, and not too long. The nail should NOT be driven tight to the surface. There SHOULD be a little play in the siding, with the nails driven into the center of the slots. Vinyl siding will expand and contract with hot or cold weather. If the siding is nailed tight... it WILL buckle. If the siding is nailed with the nails at the ENDS of the slots, instead of in the center of them... it WILL buckle. Vinyl siding also has a 'notch' at the end, where it laps into the piece next to it...sideways, I mean... the end of one piece will have the notch, that fits into the piece beside it.... if the vinyl siding is cut too long, and there is no room for expansion in this notch... it WILL buckle.
Those are your three most common causes for buckled vinyl siding.... nails too tight, nails in the wrong place, and vinyl siding cut too long.
One more common cause is the surface UNDER the siding.... if you have ';wafer'; board, it may be buckled out in places too... normally, you can set it back in place by using a screw and washer. I have found, on the odd occasion, a warped wall stud... you have to tear into the wall to fix that.
By the way... it sounds like youre going to be working on quite a bit of your siding.... you can purchase a small tool, that helps you 'unlock' the siding from the row below it... only costs about $7 and will save a lot of wear and tear on your fingers. ;) Here's a pic of a typical zip tool - http://www1.shopping.com/xPO-Malco-Produ鈥?/a>
Have Fun
normally siding has slotted areas at top for attaching to surface, this will allow for expansion / retraction. siding would be attached using hex headed screws for ease of installation or roofing nails are acceptable. (good luck)
Usually use aluminum siding nails about 1 1/2';. Aluminum nails is a must with aluminum siding, but for vinyl roofing nails are fine. They are the same shape, large flat head. The siding should be nailed in the center of the oblong holes, about every 16'; (12'; to 24'; will work). DO NOT nail tight. This is probably the cause of your problem. The siding expands and contracts with the seasons, and the large nailing hole and not-quite-driven-home nail, allow for this.
I agree with Sandy (answer number 1)
Vinyl siding should not have to have nails. Each panel interlocks with the previous panel. But, if yours is nailed on and that's how you have to fix it try either screws or these types of nails. Either ';Ring Shank'; nails or Spiral Shank nails.
They have greqat holding power and are designed to go in but not come out.
You should try using some galvinized srcrews. A good 2 and a half or 3 inches long. Don't forget to chaulk over the screws with painters chaulk.

Or woud it look better the other way around?Would silver nails with red tips look stupid?
yes.Would silver nails with red tips look stupid?
If you use a more light gray colour nail polish (as opposed to any silver metallic color) and a deep red ( not a cheesy bright red) I think it will look great.

How can I cut my cat's nails without getting scratched to pieces?
i use human nail clippers on my cats, i find the pet ones hurt them becuase they have two blades that go opposite ways and at the cut point bend the nail!! ouchy!! with human nail clippers, if you imagine the cats paw the same way you hold out your hand, i use them at the opposite angle to the way we cut ours so the blades go along the smooth side of the claw.
it doesnt hurt them unless you cut them too far, just trim the very edges regularly them you wont have to take alot off at once and risk them bleeding :( my cats go outside and climb trees and still have sharp claws, and im sure they laugh at me when i show them a scratching post. its not as nice as carpet!! ;)
it might be un natural clipping thier claws but so is keeping them in a house and feeding them ready made food so we'r all guilty! How can I cut my cat's nails without getting scratched to pieces?
I just took my cat to the vet to have one of the techs do it for me just once and show me how. My cat is very aggressive, and much more so when I try to trim his nails! Squeeze the paw pad so the claws will come out and cut them right where they curve, with a clipper made for cutting pet nails (not a toenail clipper). The vet tech told me that I need to have someone help me by scruffing him (holding him by the loose skin on the back of the neck) to keep his head from twisting around and biting me. I used to hold him in my lap to do it and just live with the bites, but I read that you shouldn't have the cat in your lap because it'll associate your lap with bad things and not want to sit in your lap anymore. If you find a fool-proof way, please let me know!!How can I cut my cat's nails without getting scratched to pieces?
It actually isn't that hard to do. Get the cat used to you touching its feet. I generally do it when my cat is sleepy. Learn to gently press its paw pads to extend each claw, one at a time. Be slow, be gentle, and praise the cat for remaining calm. Give it a treat if you'd like. Eventually you can trim the nails. Make sure you're in good light, and examine the claw -- you should be able to see where the quick (a blood vessel) is. You must be careful to avoid that, because it can bleed a lot if you snip it. If you're not comfortable trimming its nails yet, just trim the very, very ends-- it'll sharpen up again soon, but it will help you and the cat both gain confidence in the procedure.
You can buy some styptic powder at the petstore to stop the bleeding should you accidentally cut the quick. And if the cat gets too annoyed, just stop. Don't force it past its patience. Do as many as you can before the cat tells you to quit, and then you can pick up where you left off later.
Be patient, and you'll be fine!
First feed her well it will slow down her reaction speed. Then gently tie her paws together and cut her nails. Talk to your cat to keep it calm.
Don't cut them too much its bad for them and never file their nails the do it themselves outdoors. Hope this is helpful, Goodluck.
Katrina is right, if it's an 'indoor' cat then you should get it a scratching post. but if they really need doing take it to your vets, they will either do it or send you to someone who can do it properly, a lot of things can go wrong if they're clipped wrong.
Wait until they are asleep. Play around with their paws for a few days while they are sleeping to get them use to being messed with. I can only do a paw at a time before my kitty is on to me.
dont cut your cat's nails! He should be wearing them down naturally whilst outside- climbing trees and scratching on wood etc, if hes house kept then get him scratching posts but dont cut them! Its so unnatural

Acrylic nails have turned a yellow colour from eating Singapore noodles?
help me, i just ate some singapore noodles from the chinese. and because i hate prawns , i picked it up my fingers , and that has stained them a yellow colour. i cant afford to have them done again right now. any suggestions?Acrylic nails have turned a yellow colour from eating Singapore noodles?
Try soaking them in soapy water. If the stain isn't budging, then you might as well just put a dark coat of nail polish on to cover it until you can get them done again.

My nails have been strong and long and pretty the whole pregnancy until this week. I'm 36 weeks pregnant and my nails have started breaking am I lacking a vitamin I need? Is this normal?
Yes this is normal because the baby takes all your nutirents.
I have a friend whose teeth went totally crooked during and after pregnancy since the baby took all her calcium. She has had to get braces at 45 =S (Though this is very uncommon)
Just make sure to get plenty of vitamins and nutrients and eat lots of good food :)I'm 36 weeks pregnant and my nails have started breaking am I lacking a vitamin I need? Is this normal?

How do UK homeless people get their nails cut and their teeth cleaned?
There are charities that help the homeless as much as they can. They offer them hot meals, chances to wash themselves and their clothes, they even give out clothes, shoes, blankets etc, help find accomodation and jobs and also emotional support too. It's great that they do this as everybody deserves to have a decent life. How do UK homeless people get their nails cut and their teeth cleaned?
For their teeth they can use anything that is remotely brushable! Like toilet scrubbers, Sponges, steel sponges, Dusters, Floor scrubbers, brooms, and they use shoe lace for floss
For their nails they can use scissors, a knife, any sharp object. How do UK homeless people get their nails cut and their teeth cleaned?

I keep having these dreams that my nails keep breaking off?
and I am freaked out and ashamed by them. I am also unable to get an appointment to get them fixed, either. Any interpretations?I keep having these dreams that my nails keep breaking off?
You know, I'm all for dream books and interpreting dreams and what not, but if you were ashamed of your nails, and are having your dreams BECAUSE of that, it might be your fears manifesting themselves in your dreams.
For example, I have this fear of losing all my teeth. I also grind my teeth in my sleep, so when I'm stressed out, I have teeth ache. Sometimes, my teeth hurt so bad, I'm afraid I have cavities, and all of a sudden, i have dreams that all my teeth fall out.
I believe that people dream differently. Some can dream and have it interpreted by generalized books, because they dream symbolically. Some people have premonitions in their dreams. And some, very simply, manifest their fears in their dreams. You might be taking the inability to get your nails fixed to the next step in your dreams - losing them all together. If this is the case, they may end after your finally able to get them fix or find some other solution to your nails!
Until then, try not to panic. Dreams can be scary, and make you worry more in daily life, but they're just making you face what is really on your mind...and you are doing all you can to fix what you percieve is a problem!I keep having these dreams that my nails keep breaking off?
dreammoods.com always has really accurate interpretations for me, hope that helps.
To see yourself hammering nails in your dream, signifies your tenacity and ability to drive a hard bargain. Consider also the pun, ';getting nailed'; which may mean getting caught at something or a sexual innuendo. Another popular phrase ';hitting the nail on the head'; suggests that you have fully resolved a situation.
To see nails in your dream, symbolizes long and hard work for little compensation and pay.
To dream that you hurt yourself with a nail, suggests that you need to be careful with what you say.
To dream that you fingernails break, suggests that you are trying to avoid some situation or trying to get out of a responsibility.
To dream that you are polishing your fingernails, represents glamour.
To dream that you are chewing your nails, indicates that a problem is too tough to handle. You are not sure how to go about resolving a situation in your waking life.
To dream that you fingernails are growing rapidly, refers to your desires to reach out to someone. You want to be able to extend a part of yourself to others.
To dream that a man has long red fingernails, suggests that he is very in touch with his sensitivity and emotions. It may also relate to issues of sexuality and sensuality.
