How do u paint zebra stripes on your finger nails?
when you paint your nails at home and you want to add details like zebra stripes, how do u paint them on?How do u paint zebra stripes on your finger nails?
i have no experience in painting nails but something that might work would be cut thin pieces of paper tape and stick them to your nail like stripes. Paint over your whole nail and pull of the tape. The parts of your nails that were covered should not be affected and now you have your striped nails.
ps: i would let a little extra tape hang off your nail for each piece of tape you use so that you can easily pull it off after painted.living nature

How do you get tips to come off your nails.?
i got them on friday october 13....i dont want to ruin my real nailsHow do you get tips to come off your nails.?
soak them in acetone nail polish remover...the acetone will break down the glue and tips so you can take them off without tearing your nails up.How do you get tips to come off your nails.?
soak them in acetone nail polish remover and pick any stubborn pieces off. Not to upset you, but tips ruin your real nails the faster you get those off the faster your real nails have to recover.
go back to the salon if you don't want to ruin your nails. they'll take care of it for you. =)
Soak in acetone....you can find it at a beauty supply store.----use a glass dish the acetone will melt plastic.
the only way is with acetone, but its still going to damage your nails a little
Soke them in Acetone.
If they are acrylic, soak them in acetone nail polish remover. It may take a while. But, let them soak, and then buff them.
To avoid ruining your regular nails (which will be damaged once they are removed just a bit) you need to soak them in acetone.
I'd recomend going to the salon and having them remove it for you to be safe.
Soak them in acetone for an hour or so until they're soft %26amp; peel them off.
You either soak them off with pure acetone, which you can get from Sally beauty, or you can file them down, and use nipper to pull them up. Or the easiest way is to go the nail shop and let a professional do it.
well the best way to remove fake acrylic nails if you want to save your real ones is to go get them professionally removed. they will soak your nails in acetone to break down the acrylic. if you dont want to go and professionally get it done you can buy pure acetone at a beauty supply shop, like sally's. just soak your nails in it and gradually peal the acrylic off. if you break them off on your own your real nails will look horrible for awhile but you can just file the nail bed down. (filing them will cause them to be real weak tho) well honestly either way they are going to be thin and brittle but removing with acetone wont be as bad. also invest in a nail hardening polish to help restore your real nails. hope this helped
Soak them in acetone-based nail polish remover.
I soak them in Nail polish remover then soap and water and they should peal off!

Can someone dish some ideals please!!What is the best way to stop biting my nails?
I had the same problem, but ive stopped (:
-keep your hands occupied at all times.
-nail polish
-wear glovesWhat is the best way to stop biting my nails?
go to the salon and have them paint ur nails in a really pretty color and decorate them with flowers and stuff like that.. it will look so pretty u will not wanna ruin it.. if that doesn't work either u can put acrilic nails and keep them till the compulsive urge to bite them wears off
My daughter use to bite her nail's alot they sale a nail polish at walgreen's or walmart to paint your nail's and when you bite them it'll taste gross it really work's it stopped my daughter from doing it..
OMG chili powder on your nail's what a bad advise !!
Chew gum all the time, and have something in your hands all the time. Try keeping in your pocket an eraser, modeling clay, silly putty, or anything that will keep your hands busy while you're not already doing something with your hands.
Put Vaseline on them, or wear gloves. Next time you're about to bite them, make yourself stop. It takes about 30 days of not doing something ot break the Habit.
chili powder or touch a chili plant so when u go to bite ur nail ull soon stop
that or get some yucky nail polish for ur local pharmacist that's suppose to work in the same kinda way
Put Arsine on them.
wet yur fingers and dip it in hot chili powder so how you gonn lick it now

How do you stop a child from bitting their nails?
my daughter bites her nails. i tell her to stop but she wont, i've tried putting nail polish on them but she still does it. she bites them so low that their almost stubbs, you cant even see them over her finger. How do you stop a child from bitting their nails?
Our doctor suggested telling our son that there were only certain rooms in our house that he could bite his nails in, for example, only in his bedroom or in the bathroom. Then you slowly start eliminating these rooms or areas until there is no place that is ';ok'; for nail biting. We've also discovered that this is a nervous habit for him, so giving him other things to do, like playing with a stress ball when he watches TV, can do the same to relax him without him hurting himself. Good luck! How do you stop a child from bitting their nails?
Does it bother her? Just let her- she'll quit when it's important to her. It's not like it's hurting her or anything. I bit my nails until I was 13 and then I quit because I wanted to.
i used to too but i got acurlic nails now i dont bite them
i have the same problem i just let her do it, shell grow out of it, cuz i used to do it and i stoped, my mom used to rub hot chilli pepers on thim this way i could learn a lesson, u can also try the nailpolish that is for nail biting, it has a really nasty sour taste to it when u put it in ur mouth its all in drugstores
I'm 36 and I do the same thing. I dont smoke, I know that there are germs and stuff and its ugly... but I cant just leave my fingers at home like a pack of cigs. lol I have even tried putting on fake nails... I still put them in my mouth.
If you find a cure.. let me know.
its REALLY hard to quit.
i still bite MY nales.
try and put something like...um...hotsauce!
eww..dont do that..
just let her do it! she will get to that age when she realises that her friends at school dont bite there nails so she will follow suit, failing that u could reward her for not biting them, i bit my nails up until i was 26, then someone bet me a small amount of cash that i couldnt stop 4 a month, well i won the bet and havent biten my nails in over 2 years now.
there is a polish called THUMB ask your pharmacy for it. the cost is about 3.00 and it works
There is a type of fingernail polish that tastes disgusting and if you put it on her fingernails, then she will begin to stop the habit.
they have a nail polish called bite no more? i think is the name of it..you purchase it at the store in the same place as the nail polish....i always find it at CVS pharmacy
does she need or will she be getting braces any time soon?
I had the same nasty habit and having braces made it difficult to bite them, even when i really really really wanted to. When my braces came off, I had to urge to do it and i have beautiful nails now, haha!
tell her that it's gross that she's chewing off parts of her body. :(
hehe. good luck.
Make her wear mittens.
They have this polish that I bought at a beauty supply store that was so bitter and so nasty that it made me want to vomit. I don't remember the name, I just told the clerk what I was looking for and she gave it to me. It really worked. I used to bite until I bled and now, I have long beautiful nails.
Start by finding out WHY she bites her nails. Is she nervous? Worried about something? Afraid? Or is it just a bad habit that she can't seem to break? Once you know, then talk to her about it. Help her find other ways to deal with the feelings that cause her to bite her nails. And if it is just a bad habit, rest assured that she will probably grow out of it.

My sister's nails grow really fast and causes her manicures to look bad later. Help?
I'm quite frankly tired of hearing my sister complain about how after she paints her nails, two days later she's got a large gap where the new nail has grown. I asked why she doesn't just paint that part, but she said that the polish overlaps what she did two days ago and looks sloppy. Idk. Tips for her? Please?

I got acrylic nails for the first time. Are they supposed to hurt?
I got acrylic nails for the first time yesterday, and they look fantastic and spoiling myself like that made me happy, but the area underneath _aches_ to the point where I regret having done it. Is this common? They're also too long to be practical. Can I cut them or should I have a nail tech do it?I got acrylic nails for the first time. Are they supposed to hurt?
NO. Nail services of any kind, including acrylic and gel enhancements should never hurt, or cause you any discomfort. My guess is that you went to a discount salon? The places that charge like $25 or less for a full set, no appointment required and there is typically a huge language barrier there too. Just a word of advice if in fact that is where you went to have your nails done. If not, then just ignore my comment. But stay away from discount salons at all costs. They workers in those places can barely speak our language, and that is not helpful or beneficial to any of us if we cannot have our questions or concerns addressed properly, and thoroughly by the nail tech. Other problems with them are they operate like a factory. They take an assembly line approach to nail services. The idea is to get you in and out that door as fast as possible. In doing so, many importanbt steps are overlooked. Also, in order to keep down prices, they use the cheapest available products. This is obviously not a good thing. Some of them are hazardous to a persons health. They still use them, all in the name of profit. Your nails most likely hurt due to over drilling. The people in the discount salons have little to no training and are quite often unlicensed as well. They use Dremel tools on your nails which are fine if you are doing hobbies, but not for use on nails. On top of that, they are usually unskilled in the use of these drills and will overfile until there is nothing left to your natural nails. When askedm many people will say that they need to 'rough' up your nails in order for the acrylic to stick better. This is pure, 100% BS. Roughing up nails is never necessary.
I don't quite understand why it is that so many people go to these awful places. It is these same peoplke who will tell you that yes, it is normal to hae pain after your nails have been done. This is NOT true. Just my opinion...I got acrylic nails for the first time. Are they supposed to hurt?
My nails have been sore after having acrylics applied, generally, it was from a nail tech that was either in a big hurry or didn't know what they were doing. I am sure that it will go away in a day or so. My first acrylics did not hurt at all, but, as I continued to have them kept up, and used different salons, I did encounter people who were excessively rough. I actually walked out of one appointment unfinished.
I DO NOT suggest cutting the nails yourself. It can be done, however, you can crack and break them very easily. You might want to keep them the way they are for a few days and see if you get used to the length, if not, I suggest that you go back in and ask them to shorten the length for you.
yes! it can hurt. but if it hurts that bad then the nail might nit have been right for you... like your finger shape. its normal for it to hurt until you get used to it maybe like a week at most. but once again remove them if its unbarable.
cutting them: you can use a regular nail clipper, but be carefull! you dont need to go in for that. just be persice and carefull. good luck
Um, I was going to suggest calling the place where you had them done, or another nail salon in your area for advice, but I see other people have already beaten me to that idea.
I wish I could see them, I bet they're pretty. Any chance you could add details, add a photo link...?
coming from a nail pro: go back to the shop to let them cut it. acrylic is thick and you don't want to mess up your pretty nails. after the 1st day the pain usually will go away. the pain is due to all of the buffing and filing and how rough the nail shops are on our nails. it only happens with a full set. if you get a fill in it doesn't hurt again unless they did something wrong
that is normal. i got mine done for prom and i couldnt sleep because of the pain and i was thinking wow i shouldnt have. it usually goes away after the first or second day and they look really pretty so dont worry.. and i always think theyre long on me but ive never tried cutting them myself because im afraid they will break or look unproportional. idk i would go to the place and ask them to shorten them.
they are not supposed to hurt but if you rarely get them done them they most likely will don't cut them yourself you will most likely really mess them up. just enjoy them while you can but i would not recommend getting them done all the time its not healthy for your nails not to get air contact.
well your cuticles might hurt for a while and if there to long don't cut htem because you'll break them you'll have to have the nail people do itliving nature

What is the best way to stop biting my nails?
i been biting my nails since i can remember.... i have been trying to stop for so long. I hate looking at my nails and being disgusted.

Any chance you could add details, add a photo link...?
coming from a nail pro: go back to the shop to let them cut it. acrylic is thick and you don't want to mess up your pretty nails. after the 1st day the pain usually will go away. the pain is due to all of the buffing and filing and how rough the nail shops are on our nails. it only happens with a full set. if you get a fill in it doesn't hurt again unless they did something wrong
that is normal. i got mine done for prom and i couldnt sleep because of the pain and i was thinking wow i shouldnt have. it usually goes away after the first or second day and they look really pretty so dont worry.. and i always think theyre long on me but ive never tried cutting them myself because im afraid they will break or look unproportional. idk i would go to the place and ask them to shorten them.
they are not supposed to hurt but if you rarely get them done them they most likely will don't cut them yourself you will most likely really mess them up. just enjoy them while you can but i would not recommend getting them done all the time its not healthy for your nails not to get air contact.
well your cuticles might hurt for a while and if there to long don't cut htem because you'll break them you'll have to have the nail people do it

I have thin nails, and I'm trying to get them to grow %26amp; get much thicker. I use sally hansen weekly %26amp; I file them everyday, but I'm not noticing a difference. If u know any tips to help me out please let me know!!!!!!!!!!!!Does filing your nails alot really make them thicker?
trim them a lotDoes filing your nails alot really make them thicker?
I have lived in many places and found that areas with high humidty make nails soft and pliable while those areas with low humidty make them thicker but chip more easily. There is no winning. Do the best you can.

Please?

How can I get rid of a nail fungus without taking my acrylic nails off?
I'm a Nail Tech. Nail fungus is a Contra Indication as we call it which means us Professional Nail tech's should not touch it so even if you wanted to get the nail removed we wouldn't be aloud to due to ifection and so on... Any Nail tech that is properly Trained would not perform any treatment on that finger even hand in some cases
As me personal without the professional additude i would remove the nail using Acetone soak a cotton bud place on the nail and wrap with foil away from the fungus then scrap with a orangewood stick Sorry but its going to have to be removed..!
I know this doesn't answer your question but for your safety go to your local GP Before it spreads..How can I get rid of a nail fungus without taking my acrylic nails off?

I got my nails done and for some reason my hands are trembling?
Today it was my first time getting gel nails put on and i'm not really used to using them. Could this be related with the trembling at all? Like when i'm texting with my phone it feels like my hands are shaking and i've been having a hard time....I got my nails done and for some reason my hands are trembling?
nah its all mental, you're just focusing on your hands too much, being self conscious about it makes them shake. It'll go away as you get used to the fact that most girls do their nails, big deal.I got my nails done and for some reason my hands are trembling?
No i wouldnt think so. But maybe allergic reaction. Look it up or call a doctor.
I'm sure that has nothing to do with it. I think you're just a hypochondriac.

Why do some people feel extremely uncomfortable when they see someone scratch a glass-sheet with their nails?
Others have the same sensation(discomfort or even distress)seeing someone sharpen a knife with a steel-rod sharpener, and other similar activities.Does this concept have a name?what's the scientific explanation for this phenomenon? Why do some people feel extremely uncomfortable when they see someone scratch a glass-sheet with their nails?
Probably the sound frequency is a bit high... Like when you hear something screech... High frequency sounds always cause uncomfortable behavior in humans, according to tests, this is no differentWhy do some people feel extremely uncomfortable when they see someone scratch a glass-sheet with their nails?
The answer . 100-s yers ago people belive in ambient dangerous by hearing the sound of that strach .Actually this is the sound of monkeys . So now, we have the same bad feeling as people 100-s yers ago. That bad feeling is the feel of dangerous.
OMG I NEVER THOUGHT OF THAT before!
i have read this in somewhere before (sorry can't remember from where):
the high pitch sound of scratching glass-sheet with nails, or scratching blackboard with nails, are similar to the sound made by apes/monkeys, asking for help when they are in danger.
if you believe in evolution, that human evolve from ape (somehow). maybe that's is the ancient instinct we inherite from our ancient ancestors - feeling uncomfortable hearing an emergency call and relate it to danger.
Uh...because the sound it makes is anooying? Seriously, this kind of thing shouldn't be that hard to figure out.
its not seeing it. its hearing the sound. its sends chills up your back.living nature

How long do nails need to be to be considered long?
I want long nails but I dunno how long they should beHow long do nails need to be to be considered long?
One foot. How long do nails need to be to be considered long?
They are Too Long when you can no longer do normal daily tasks comfortably. Usually just to the tip of the finger or barely beyond is considered a good ';long'; length that will leave you functional.
Too Long nails look like talons or claws and are a definite turn off. You don't want them to look artificial, and that's the result when they're that long.
When you begin to feel like you're handicapped by your nails, it's time to trim/file back a little.
Sometimes, I let my nails grow out to maybe half or less of a centimeter. People ask why I do that, and I tell them that it's because I'm REALLY REALLY lazy. Clipping my nails takes time away from reading comics and playing video games, LOL.
Long enough so that if you look at the palm of your hand straight on, you can see the tip of your nails.
This goes for round tips and square tips. It's a brilliant rule to follow while giving yourself a french manicure. :)
when my free edge appears I always trim them because dirts and germs would go under there. That is why I hate chefs with long finger nails, especially those who smoke. I like them short and clean.

longer than 'short', but shorter than 'very long'
The white bit should be about a 5th of the pink bit :D
This is not the place to ask.
Well, I consider my nails to be long when I can see them over the tips of my fingers.
they need to be 1 foot but they can be as long as u want when they get to long they will break
i usually let mine grow about a meter until i consider them long, but it's up to you hun x

Will long, pointed nails get in the way of my Saxophone playing?
Hi! I play the Alto-Sax, and I would like to grow my nails a few inches, and file them to be pointed (extremely pointed - so much that they cut skin), but I'm worried - how long can they get before they begin to affect my playing?
Thanks! Will long, pointed nails get in the way of my Saxophone playing?
Well it all depends on how you hold your saxophone, I personaly press down on the keys with the tips of my fingers because I think it's faster. But I know a lot of people that play with the side of their finiger opposite to the nail, so that it would never get in the way (if that makes sence). You have to be the judge of that, and if it does get too long, trim it down just a little to find that balance of comfort and the nails you want.

How many hours is the 2008 NIN Nine Inch Nails Concert?
The concert starts at 7:00 with an opening band, how long can I expect to be there? How many hours is the 2008 NIN Nine Inch Nails Concert?
They did a two hour set at the Virgin Festival in Baltimore, which unfortunately I missed.
I'm assuming it's going to work this way: If doors open at 7, opening band won't go on till 8pm, their set will probably be 45 minutes, as that's the time most opening bands get. About 30 to 45 minutes later NIN will start and most likely do a 2 hour set. So probably a total of 4 hours, give or take a few. I'll be seeing them in Philly this week, I'm very excited. :)
Edit - I initially thought doors open at 7, but now I'm thinking doors open earlier and the show actually starts at 7... if that's the case than knock an hour off the total time. How many hours is the 2008 NIN Nine Inch Nails Concert?
You will probably be there until 11, it's about 3 and half hours.
The laser show is amazing, have fun!
Amazing show it will last until around 11
We were at the show in Cleveland Friday night, and we got out of the arena around 11:30PM...
AT LEAST TIL MIDNIGHT.

What diurnal animal in MA makes a sound like nails on a chalkboard? I heard it the other day in the woods.?
I was riding my horse in the woods the other day with a few others, and the leader's horse spooked at a strange sound that reminded me of nails on a chalkboard. At first we thought it was a fisher cat, but I did some research and realized that fisher cats scream. So what made that noise? Please help me figure this out. What diurnal animal in MA makes a sound like nails on a chalkboard? I heard it the other day in the woods.?
Raccoons and foxes will both make noises like you heard, especially during breeding season. This is the breeding season for the red fox, so that may be what you heard. Then warning call in this link is the one you want:

Another possibility is a ring-necked pheasant:

How can I stop the habit of Biting my nails?
because ever sense i was little i have been biting my nails and my mother tells me to stop but I can't help itHow can I stop the habit of Biting my nails?
ok, my little sister has the same problem and she is doing somthing that is helping her. the thing that she does is she puts nail polish or a clear coat of nail polish so when she puts her finger in her mouth, it tastes bad.How can I stop the habit of Biting my nails?
you need to put antacid on it and then it will taste really bad. That will make you stop. You can get it a Walmart.
wear mittings or gloves!
Always carry a nail file/clipper.
I never had a terrible habit of biting my nails, but I did, routinely. What I did was start carrying a nail file/clipper in my pocket at all times. Then, if I detected a slight uneveness or rough bit that normally would have attracted a biting session, I could file it or clip it. I just tried to make that my habit instead. Now that I don't always have a clipper/file within reach, I sometimes lapse into old bad habits, but generally my nails look ok.
there is a special nail polish that tastes bad that u can put on ur nails. i finally had to get fake ones though. when they look so pretty u don't want to bite em. thats how i did it.
There is this product (that of which I do not know...but I know walmart has it!!) that you put on your nails that will deter you from biting your nails. It's made of cayenne peppers so it is extremely spicy. It worked for me, because I'm not a spicy lover! It is applied just like nail polish and is clear so no one will know you have it on....just one suggestion if you use it....do not rub your eyes....owowowo!!!!
Happy New Year!
try stoping for a week and think of how you'll ruin your teeth every time u think stop yourself or clench ur eeth to prevent it
Paint them. It tastes disgusting when you bite them. That's how I stopped a long time ago.
ok they make this stuff called THUM and u can get it at drugstores or walmart. paint it on your nails and and will taste very bad.
put vinegar on your nails cause the nasty taste will make you not want to bit anymore!

What size drywall is good for ceilings& size of nails?
5/8'; sheet rock gives the best long term results down here on the humid Gulf coast especially w/joists on 24'; centers.
Although 5/8'; rock is heavier than 1/2'; (duhh), it is more resistant to sagging between joists.
1-1/4'; (min for new installs) Type W bugle head screws 12'; apart are a much, much better installation than nails.

http://www.usg.com/USG_Marketing_Content鈥?/a>What size drywall is good for ceilings%26amp; size of nails?
As others have stated 1/2 inch is an industry standard, and might only sag/warp/be damaged otherwise, through water intrusion, or someone stepping on it above, which would happen with 5/8 as well.
5/8 is more used commercially, and often includes some level or fire retardation in the process of manufacture in more compression of the gypsum, but a 4 x 8 x 5/8 sheet weighs in the 75 to 80 lb. +/- range, and like 1/2 inch, for a ceiling install, HELP should be considered, or the tedium of double ladders, and JACKS of some sort, to help hold a sheet at 8 ft. in the air,,,or higher.
Also, as others state, Drywall screws are standard, come in various lengths (You'd need no more than 1 5/8 max)

just my two ';sense';What size drywall is good for ceilings%26amp; size of nails?
I used 1/2 inch on the ceiling But do NOT use nails. Use drywall screws for the ceiling. You can get away with good drywall nails for walls, but not for the ceiling. A good drywall screw will hold the ceiling up much better and hold for the long haul. I had to fix a pile of nails that were popping out from the ceiling at our last house because of the cheap builder. Please don't make that mistake.
5/8'; Drywall. Sorry, no offense to others, but over time 1/2'; or thinner will sag down between joists and/or trusses, creating a wavy ceiling. But yes, certainly screws, not nails, 1-1/2';. At least that is standard in my area.
You want to use 5/8 drywall. If you go to the thin type after a couple of years,(maybe only a couple of months) you will see the drywall bow down between the roof joists. Yes it is weight is more as you try to hold them in place, but they do a better job. And I would use 2';screws (or longer) instead of nails they hold much better. They rent drywall lifters at many rental outlets. They will hold the drywall right where you need it until you can get screws in.
Also take an extra 2 minutes per sheet and snap lines where you what to put the screws. This takes 2 minutes longer at the start of each sheet but saves hours trying to remove screws that miss the joists and in filling extra holes.
You want 3/8'; drywall on the ceiling because it's not as heavy, and I would recommend drywall screws instead of nails because they don't pop as much.
they make 1/2 inch drywall in an ';extra strength ceiling panel'; that eliminates sag and weighs less than 5/8 inch board but it's a little more expensive. i would go with 5/8 or the extra strength board. regular 1/2 inch will sag over time especially with insulation laying on top of it. 1-1/4 inch screws are fine for ceilings.
1/2 or 5/8. But if cost is not a great consideration put up two sheets. Do the room in one direction and then in the opposite. Great sound insulator.
Again, screws large enough to bite 1-1.5 inches
1/2 inch drywall is normal and use screws instead of nails. 1 1/2 inch course thread drywall screws should be fine unless you are going over an existing surface in which case the screws should be long enough to go through the drywall, the existing surface and penetrate at least an inch into the ceiling joists. You can buy drywall bits that fit into any drill that will sink the screws to the perfect level in the drywall everytime. If you don't have a drill you can rent a drill or even better a drywall screwdriver that holds screws in a clip and will tremendously speed up the process. Since it's a ceiling, renting a panel lift would also be a HUGE help. It's just a lift that hold the drywall tightly to the ceiling so you can screw it in without the bother of trying to hold it up at the same time. I'll never do another ceiling without one.
Use 1/2'; drywall. Don't worry, it won't sag. Use drywall screws instead of nails. They hold better and nailing at that angle is VERY uncomfortable.

Are concrete perches for my cockatiel bad for its feet? I know it is good for its nails? wont it cause lesions?
I have always heard that concrete or textured perches are a ';must-have'; for cockatiels because they can keps its nails trimmed. But I recently read an atricle that said that concrete or textured perches can irritate the bird's feet and can cause lesions and other skin problems? is this true? Are concrete perches for my cockatiel bad for its feet? I know it is good for its nails? wont it cause lesions?
If it only has one perch that is concrete, that's good for the toenails. But if they don't have any natural wood perches. To be effective, place a concrete perch near the food/water and get other natural wood perches.
I hope this helps! :)Are concrete perches for my cockatiel bad for its feet? I know it is good for its nails? wont it cause lesions?
I always have a variety of perches in my cage, wood, plastic, rope. That way they get a choice. You wouldn't want to sit in the same chair everyday would you ?

Dont remove them. What is the best way to remove a full set french manicure at home, without damaging your nails?
Soak them off with acetone (if they're gel or acrylic) nail polish remover. This will make your nails a little dry %26amp; somewhat brittle so put some type of polish like Sally Hanson Hard As Nails on them to strength them back up.What is the best way to remove a full set french manicure at home, without damaging your nails?
Sometimes acrylic acid helps. It might make your nails weak for a little while though.
Soak them off with fingernail polish remover.
Acetone is the best way to remove them, but I would recommend using a nail hardener nail polish for a few weeks after you remove them. Start by cutting your nails really short and keeping polish on them to keep them hard. Eventually, they will grow normal again and have the strength. Sally Hanson Strong as nails polish is the best (as mentioned in the post above me too)
hope this helps
This will sound gross, I wash washing my dog with flea shampoo %26amp; they just kinda melted away.
You can try soaking them in nail polish remover with acetone. It does take awhile but be careful if you start pulling off the artificial nail because you could also remove top layer of your nail.
Try soaking your nails in acetone nail polish remover. It should deteriorate the artificial nails and you can slowly pry them off. This will probably take some time though.
Good luck!
buy some acetone and soak your nails for like 15-30 minutes and then they should just peel right off. it's what the nail salons do.

What's the normal way to cut your nails?
Are you supposed to cut off all of the white or leave a bit of it?
I'm a bassist/(kind of)guitarist, so I always need to keep my nails short and it really annoys me once the white starts growing back so I never let it grow at all, and never have any white on the tips of my nails, is that normal because my sister reckons it's gross, and I told her it's not!!!What's the normal way to cut your nails?
Lol at your sister's comment. I don't like guys with stubs almost as fingernails but it's whatever you feel comfy in, especially being a bassit. Many girls don't have any of the whites of their nails, but if you cut all of the white bit you may end up bleeding, as the pinky bit is where the nail is attached to the skin and therefore has blood.
There is no normal way to cut nails, some use files, special nail scissors or nail clippers. If in the future your girlfriend doesn't like it, them I would consider growing them a few mm but not for your sister!
Don't worry about it.What's the normal way to cut your nails?
You can cut you nails in any way you want really. One thing though cut STRAIGHT across. Simple really, make sure not to cut the corners deep.
Cut them the way it suits you it has got nothing to do with anyone else.

How much dose it cost to clip dots nails at pet co and petsmart?
Plz help me i am sick of all the sraces from my cusins dogHow much dose it cost to clip dots nails at pet co and petsmart?
I agree with the pedi-paws answer. We bought this for our dogs and it works wonders, and it would be more cost efficient in the long run. As for the price of getting it done, you can simply call your local petco/petsmart and ask what they charge. Different locations will most likely charge a different price... its all in what people willing to pay.How much dose it cost to clip dots nails at pet co and petsmart?
Ok first off, Learn to spell and don't abbreviate everything.
If you want your dogs nails clipped you can do it at the pet store for a decent price and get it done RIGHT or you can buy a nail clipper and cut the dogs vein and make it limp the rest of the week. If you want to clip its nails yourself make sure you have a clipper specifically for dog nails and that you have proper lighting. Dog nails arent completely opaque when brought to a light, you can see a small vein that looks just like the nail a little ways into it. When clipping it be ABSOLUTELY SURE that you cut a ways below the vein keeping your dog uninjured. But honestly I recommend just getting it done professionally.
Calm down grammar police...geez.
Petsmart charges $8 just to clip the nails on a large dog. One of mine has black nails, so when I first adopted him, I took him to get them clipped a few times and that was the price. Plus, I always tipped a dollar or two.
However, it's much more cost effective and very easy to learn to clip the dogs' nails yourself (actually, something your cousin should be doing.)
you can get a pedi paw from pet smart or pet-co for like $20 and it doesnt hurt the pets and you would get scracth by the dog and the dog doesnt have to go back and get its nails cut by strangers
you spelt does wrong, you f***ing retard.

you can get a pedi paw from pet smart or pet-co for like $20 and it doesnt hurt the pets and you would get scracth by the dog and the dog doesnt have to go back and get its nails cut by strangers
you spelt does wrong, you f***ing retard.
Laptop my daughter was showing her friend her nails on the web camera now paint is on the camera lens?
How do I get it off? I'm so upset!Laptop my daughter was showing her friend her nails on the web camera now paint is on the camera lens?
Likely nail polish remover, or acetone, is your only option. That is, unless it is a special type of nail polish that has it's own type of remover.
The problem is, that nail polish remover is a powerful solvent, and will likely cloud the lens of the camera.Laptop my daughter was showing her friend her nails on the web camera now paint is on the camera lens?
Rub some nail polish remover on it very quickly and then when the polish is off immediately wipe off the remover. The nail polish remover will erode through everything, so you want it to only get the polish off but not be on long enough to hurt the lens.
nail polish remover i dont know if that would brake it though..maybe try to scratch it off but that might scratch the camera. sorry hun i would ground her haha :/
take a Q-tip dip it in some nail polish remover and clean it off take another Q-tip and dry the lens
try geeting some lens cleaner or ask someone at bestbuy.
Rubbing alcohol or lense cleaner if you're super worried about it.
Nail polish remover, though I wouldn't really classify this as a technological question.
Please have her tubes tied, so she cannot pass on her genes...

Why does my male cat bite his back nails? And why does he throw up every once awhile after eating?
My male cat, Damien, bites his back claws just like a human bites their nails. He's starting to teach this bad habit to his sister. Why does he do it? And he throws up after eating every once and awhile like he ate too fast or something. I feed him Dad's Complete. Is it the food or is he just being a pig and eating too fast??Why does my male cat bite his back nails? And why does he throw up every once awhile after eating?
As to the first part, it's very common for cats to bite their back claws, they are actually grooming themselves. They are just cleaning their nails. I've never seen a cat who didn't do it. So, don't think that one cat is teaching the other a bad habit, it's nature.
As to the second part, yes, your cat is being a little piglet. Basically he is stuffing himself too quickly for his little stomach, like so many cats, his eyes are bigger than his stomach, and he just gobbles up whatever is there and it just doesn't stay down. We tried giving out male cat who did that a lot less food at one sitting and made him wait for a little more and than a little more. It did seem to help with the puking a bit.Why does my male cat bite his back nails? And why does he throw up every once awhile after eating?
Well, u know human babys throw up after eating sometimes too. =)
Is your cat a long haired cat,Mine does the samething and the vet says its normal,I give her hair ball treatments,But
frankly I don't think that stuff helps.Anyway mine does it
after she cleans herself, not uaually right away but in the next day she usually gets it up (the hairball),After she sheds
she usually don't have it as bad, hardly none.
The biting the back claws I wouldn't worry about it's just their way of cleaning them and getting the outside layer off, has he got a scratching pad? That could prevent that since it serves the same purpose.
I'm not sure about the nail biting but I believe I have an answer to the throwing up problem.
I looked up Dad's cat food and I saw on the picture that the cat food is dry cat food that has ';artificial coloring';. That might be the reason why he throws up. My cat used to throw up but we started getting her cat food with no artificial coloring and she got better.
Also one other reason that he might be throwing up is that he has been eating grass. Cats like to nibble on grass(at least mine does) and it cleans out their stomach.

For prom I am wanting the fake french nails is it a good idea?
My mother really doesn't like the idea but I have always wanted them. If anyone knows if they are a wast of money or if they are really harmful to you it would be very helpful for me to make my decision. Thank youFor prom I am wanting the fake french nails is it a good idea?
The french tips do look good. They are not harmful to your health.
However they are harmful to your natural nails.
So, If you have no intention of growing out your own nails and can afford they acrylics. Then yes they would look beauiful for your prom, Especially if you tipped the color the same as your dress. :-)For prom I am wanting the fake french nails is it a good idea?
Difinitely get them. I've had them several times and they have never harmed me. They just thin your nails a little bit before they put them on with a dremmel tool to make them rough to give the acrylic something to stick to. It isnt too thin when you take them off though, just use regular nail polish when you remove them. A huge amount of girls have those in high school, i'm not sure why your mom would disagree. They make you look nice and like you take care of yourself. I would get acrylic ones with white tips, and have a thin line painted on the border of the pink and white part of your nail to match your dress (they'll know what you mean). It would look really cute.
I think it would be a good idea. It is common at proms for girls to have the fake french tip nails, and they look good and sophisticated. As far as I know, there are no health concerns or risks to getting them. If done by a professional, they should last about 2 weeks, and then you will have to get them filled or replaced. I think they are worth the money for a prom.
Hope this helps.
If you get them on in a salon they're more harmful then a quick kit from the drugstore. They do hurt when they are removed and can leave a nasty residue.
A better idea would be to go to a salon and get french tips painted. It's cheaper and I personally think it looks sooooo much better.
I paint my own myself! :)
I think that would LOOK awesome!! I've had them done plenty of times!
It might hurt if your nail tech accidently files into your cuticle, but it's just sting....I'd say get them done no earlier than a week before prom, so they still look good.
They'll start to grow out and be noticeable, so either you can fill them in, and keep them, or just let them fall off, or get them proffessionally removed
It's called Acrylic French Tip. and It's not a bad idea. Some girls I know can never grow their nails. and having french nails is very formal and classy. Just don't have it too long. Although, having it on will damage your nail pad. But it'll get healthy after a month (after removing it) .....but if you can grow your nails ...natural is the best way to go! it is classier....
Good Luck!
Liz does not know what she is talking about...
They don't hurt and they are on for 2 - 3 weeks...
They are really nice ESPECIALLY for prom!
Also, you can get like the press on ones from CVS and they will look nice for the evening.
I have not had mine off in over 1 year...
DONT DO IT!!! Just get a manicure of your real nails! I used to get my nails done every two weeks for a few years! It hurts like hell when you break or crack one! Its expensive and it ruins your nails!
They tear your nails apart when they come off so I'd just invest in a real french manicure. The fake ones are annoying anyways.
I got them for my winter formal, and liked them
just glue them on really well!!
and remove them the way the box says too. DO NOT RIP THEM OFF
No! They look so tacky and are uncomfortable. Just get a $5 french nail polish kit at walmart...I have one and it looks great! Plus, they're the same price.
yea they r fancy, pretty and sophisticatd!
but if u wanna take them off, u shud take them off from the bttm,
then it wont hurt reli,
nd pik a really bright color dhat stands out nd matches ur dress!
you mean tips. you should get them if you want them. i did and loved them
NO! Don't get them. They hurt when the fall off, and they look tacky.
i think you should. Their cute and not harmful.
i've heard they can be painful, plus they're a huge waste of money! nobody at prom is gonna be looking at ur nails anyway.

I need help on trying to get my nails to grow?
My nails are so short and I cant get them to grow and stay strong does anyone know what could help me out?I need help on trying to get my nails to grow?
You can purchase nail-strengthening polish. It is usually clear-coloured. Apply this to your nails about once per week, it will help make them stronger.
Also, believe it or not, filing your nails down just a little bit each week will also help them to grow. Don't file to remove very much, just sort of gently file down the tips of each nail about once a week too. You should be doing this anyway to maintain each nail's shape, as it grows out.
Hope this helps!I need help on trying to get my nails to grow?
Two things:
1. Nail strengthener, Sally Hansen %26amp; Nutri-Nail are both very good.
2. Get them shaped correctly so they won't break - go to a good salon and have them done, then just file them every couple of weeks following the shape the manicurist gave you.
The make a clear nail polish with extra protein for nail strenght. (I think Sally Hansen makes it)
It works pretty well.
Gelatine capsules are supposed to work really well at making your nails stronger.

Wat is the best way to keep your nails in shape?
i have long nails but they seem to chip alot and dnt look that nice wen polished. can you help?Wat is the best way to keep your nails in shape?
always wear opi nail envy, you can get it in boots, superdrug, etc, you can also get it on ebay. it works as a top coat and a basecoat, and it has loads of vitamins and minerals to help your nails, its specially made to help your nails from getting chipped and broken, and it hardens them alot and makes them strong, and its great for if you want to grow your nails long but they break when your trying to. it also makes them so glossy and shiny! its the best thing ever!!! only one catch... its sorta pricey! its around 25 pounds in boots, but on ebay you can get it for, like, ten! but its definitely worth the money, i had the softest, most brittle nails before i used it, and now, they actually haven't broken since! so I'd definitely recommend this product. Hope this helps you!Wat is the best way to keep your nails in shape?
Eat jello. Strange but true. This is what my sister used to have to do.
Try to shape them lightly every other day and use a good quality nail hardener.
gelatin ...sounds funny but you can take a gelatin supplement found in the vitamin aisle also works wonders for your hair . and you can buy and make PLAIN gelatin and soak your nails in it dont refrigerate it just mix it and soak
Buy a nail file, Which has
step 1 for shaping
Step 2 for neatening
Step 3 for buffing
Step 4 for polishing,
If you get nicks and your nails split, Be sure to trim the nail immediately, You can also buy nail polish with vitamins to protect the nail, drink more milk %26amp; water and maybe take a multi vitamin, use non acetone nail polish remover and wear gloves when doing the dishes, Dip a cotton ball into olive oil and apply to nail and cuticle.
You could also get your nails done at a salon and see what they suggest. :o)

Why do girls always attempt to paint their nails when they just get wrecked anyway?
i always paint my toe nails but my fingers always get wrecked like this time here :(Why do girls always attempt to paint their nails when they just get wrecked anyway?
Well, think about other sorts of beauty treatments people do.
Why do women buy hair removal products when hair just grows back anyway?
Why do girls wear makeup if they have to keep applying it anyway?
Why do girls brush their hair if it's just going to get messy anyway?
You want to look pretty. You want to feel confident. You want to put your best foot forward.
Having a polished set of fingernails actually influences a LOT on first and outer impressions other people have of you more than you realize. Sure, they'll get wrecked anyway in a few days. But not only do these small little beautacious idiosyncracies make me feel confident, but it also shows other people that I take care of myself. As much as I would like to believe that people are only judging you on what's inside, people will always judge on outer appearances. :PWhy do girls always attempt to paint their nails when they just get wrecked anyway?
Because there you are at a great party, dancing, in a black cocktail dress and strappy sandals, your toes look great but your fingernails need to be that deep red to pull off the whole outfit.
On the other hand, you could always wear something that goes with clear nails....
Well it looks pretty and its fun.
Once it gets wrecked, girls usually just paint them again or take the polish off with nail polish remover.
I understand what you mean!
I feel your pain that's why I don't paint my fingernails either. I work too much with my hands anyway!living nature

Can i put fingernail polish over solar nails?
i have solar overlay over my natural nails. i'm getting tired of the french manicure look(the white tips). i was wondering if i could paint my nails with polish and if i can what if i decide to change the color or what if i want the french manicure look back. will it look ok if i remove the polish with non acetone remover and will it damage the overlay? Can i put fingernail polish over solar nails?
Im a manicurist and have been doing nails for 7 years you can defiantly put polish over the solar nails lightly buff the shine off of them and make shure you use a base coat so if you decide to go back to the french you haven't stained them. if you want the french look just put top coat over them to get the shine back. Non acetone remover is the best to use to not ruin the nails. Can i put fingernail polish over solar nails?
I have NO idea. I enjoy being a guy. I'm allowed to get up, throw something on and go. Don't have to worry about solar overlays or whatever.
DJ is right and do not use polish remover with acetone. It's so wrong with fake nails. They might come off.....

right now, black is super popular for short nails. It's in TV and movies and a lot of celebrities have been doing it. And not just because it's halloween. ;)
You can paint them any color you like! What matters is what you think your nails look nice in. :)

how about purple or orange :)

Okay i got my nails done a while back they finally fell and my nails hurt why is that? and how can i make it stop? has that happened to you?I got my nails done and they finally fell but my fingers hurt?
This pain could be as a result of some of the chemicals used when you had your nails done (an example only but I have had something like this happen to me before).
However, I would recommend checking with your doctor as well to see what they say.

What is the longest you should let you toe nails get.?
I'm not talking about trimming frequency here, but only length.
-Do you ever let you big toe nail grow so big that you could quite possibly use it as a weapon or even a tool?
-At what point do you lose the ability to wear shoes and have to wear flip flops?
-I'm not too concerned with the little toes, they are fairly harmless. Yet the big toe could perhaps be used a letter opener...What is the longest you should let you toe nails get.?

I'm sure that all the colors would look amazing on you but if you want to look the best you can get I would put on like the dark purple or the red. I would put on the dark purple because this way you can't notice how short the nail is. I would put on a red because it is vibrant and it will be an eye catcher! I'm not sure what an nail art pen is but if it lets you add little designs on your nails then what you should do is maybe like add a star or a heart to make your nails look casual but great. I hope this helps alot.

You should just keep your nails well trimmed and taken care of. You can do a pale pink to add a little something without going OVERBOARD on purples, reds, neon, etc. Try simple but still nice and girly !
We have a nice variety of nail polishes
Check out my site: http://www.youravon.com/jessicamartinez
and look for Nailwear Pro Nail Enamel
and for free shipping use this code: REPFLYER
Try a pale pink color; that would look really pretty. You could also use your nail art pen to add polka-dots to add an extra girly feel.
never wear the neon green because its looks gross.i would go with the pale pink or buy a hot pink.but not neon hot pink.lol.
I always think plain clean nails looks best!living nature

Are concrete preches for my cockatiel bad for its feet? I know it is good for its nails? wont it cause lesions?
I have always heard that concrete or textured perches are a ';must-have'; for cockatiels because they can keps its nails trimmed. But I recently read an atricle that said that concrete or textured perches can irritate the bird's feet and can cause lesions and other skin problems? is this true? Are concrete preches for my cockatiel bad for its feet? I know it is good for its nails? wont it cause lesions?
Wood and pumice perches are good for cockatiel's feet. They will exercise them and keep them in good condition. Concrete perches are good for keeping the nails trimmed. Sometimes concrete can irritate the bird's feet. You need to keep an eye on your cockatiel's feet if you use a concrete perch. I have one in some, but not all, of my parakeet and finch cages but I've never noticed any problems due to the perch. Don't use sandpaper perches because they are very hard on a cockatiel's delicate feet and can cause lesion, abrasions, and more. It's a good idea to have perches of different sizes and materials to let your cockatiel exercise all parts of its feet. Are concrete preches for my cockatiel bad for its feet? I know it is good for its nails? wont it cause lesions?
I consider them ';must haves'; for all of my parrots. I've had most of mine for over 12 years, with absolutely no problems what so ever. I haven't had to clip any nails in 12 years either.
Make sure you get the right size, and make sure it is the highest perch.
If it only has one perch that is concrete, that's good for the toenails. But if they don't have any natural wood perches. To be effective, place a concrete perch near the food/water and get other natural wood perches.
I hope this helps! :)

Does hot pink nails and toenails with brown and gold sandals with a black skirt and a brown shirt go together?
with naturally curly hair.. also the shirt is low cut and has white small dots all over. Is it fashion or a flaw? Also how would i look? Oh i almost forgot. deep pink almost purple eye shadow with mascara and deep (not that dark) SHINY lip gloss.Does hot pink nails and toenails with brown and gold sandals with a black skirt and a brown shirt go together?

NO. You'd have to have just the right fabric and style and stuff for that to even work first... pictures would help - maybe you could post a link to them or something.

What is the best way to trim baby's nails?
what should i do or use? What is the best way to trim baby's nails?
You need to clip them pretty early on, to prevent them from scratching their face with the nails (you can also try and keep scatch mitts on, but that can be a challenge!)
I am not comfortable usign clippers, even when baby is sleeping, because she still manages to wiggle enough that I am worried about cutting her. They actually sell special baby clippers with a kind of magnifying glass attatchment, but I didn't find that to help. instead, I use a very fine grade nail file to file her nails down. This doesn't seem to hurt her at all even if I get her skin sometimes. And yes, I do sometimes bit the corners that are hard to get, though I agree this can lead to hangnails if you aren't careful (which also don't seem to bother her when it happens) The nail file works great, though, you shoudl try it. Be sure to support each finger firmly when workign on it so the finger doesn't bend from the pressure of the file. What is the best way to trim baby's nails?
You can trim them as soon as you notice that their nails are to long.
It's best to wait until they are napping because that's when the baby is the most still. But in my case, my daughter wakes up immediately when someone touches her so that doesn't work for me. And because she's so wiggly now it's actually a 2 person job to trim her nails now lol. My boyfriend has to hold her hand steady while I trim the nails.
You can trim a baby's nails any time you think they're getting too long. I always clip my daughter's nails when she's napping, or at least when she's very mellow. Even then, I don't try to clip all her nails at once. I go for the ones that look longest/most dangerous first, and if she lets me, I clip the rest or as many as I can get. Good luck!
baby nail cutters are nice, but using your teeth works wonders . use tongue to measure and bite when they're napping. sounds strange, but works wonders and less dangerous then the cutters! trim them when they need them so they don't cut themselves. No age limit.
I use cuticle scissors, and babies are born with really long nails, so its best to do it when they are asleep and from day one, dont forget to pack them in your diaper bag when you go to the hospital!!!!
I always trim my daughter's when they get long enough..
and i know this sounds nasty, but i use my teeth. Just because it's easier to know if your about to cut it to short.
When I need to trim my babies nails when he was younger until about 5 months old I would file them down because he would never hold still long enough. Now he is 8 months old and I use baby nail clippers and they work great.
I find it easiest to do during nap time.
Just pick up a baby manicure kit, and use the clippers they have in there. Just be extra careful not to nip the skin!
I always used baby nail clippers but my mother in law would always say the best way is for you to bite them off.
Bite it off... the best way you do it...its gross but safe for the baby.. and babies safety comes first!
I cut my baby's nails when she is asleep.

hardwood nailed or stapled down is around 3.00 SF so your looking at 1800.00 for installation. some installers like mine will give discounts to people that have floor prepped and ready when its time to install. Less for the installer and as busy as they are we appreciate the customer helping out.

Is it healthy to paint my 2yr olds nails often?
My 2yr old and I go once to twice a month to get our nails painted and I was wondering if it is bad for her nails, because their are childrens spas that paint only kids nails so do they have a special kind of nail polish for kids? Thank you to anyone who could help me out.Is it healthy to paint my 2yr olds nails often?
Some companies market nail polish for kids, when I was little I had Disney Princess nail polish... Try Avon maybe? Also, make sure she doesn't bite her nails or put her hands in her mouth when she's had them painted since that can make her sick. Ditto on the make sure to give her nails time to breathe at least 1 week off for every week on...Is it healthy to paint my 2yr olds nails often?
I think it's fine as long as she's not a thumb sucker since I'm pretty sure that the nail polish may have some icky chemical in it. You could ask the salon about some non-toxic nail polish or bring your own if you happen to find some especially made for kids, even if it's not as good a quality as ';adult nail polish.';
NO!
I wouldn't worry so much about the nail polish. But the fumes she's breathing at the salon. It's very toxic for her tiny little body. If I were you, I'd try to find some child polishes or all natural that would be okay for her. And would limit the salons to like once or twice a year. Those chemicals are just too intense for your little one.
I think it's great that you include your daughter in this kind of outting. I would be careful though as to not cover her nails all the time with paint as it will not allow for air to to naturally harden her healthy nails. After prolonged use of nail polish they will get weaker. I do not know if nail salons have a special nail polish for kids. I was not aware of that but it's possible.
Dan - I am assuming you're the only one who gave each of us a thumbs down. First of all nail polish is NOT makeup...get your facts straight.
why do people want there two year olds wearing makeup if you are using the adult nail varnish it is not good for your childs lungs she is breathing chemicalsyes yes i know i am a bloke so i automaticaly qualify for thumbs down in this section but its the truth
As long as she doesnt chew her nails or suck her thumb I dont see a problem
I think adult polish could be harsh on little kids nails but they do make polishes for kids that easly peel and are non toxic.
It can be...just check the nail polish they are using to make sure its non toxic. They make child safe nail polish.
Good luck!

Are your nails made of hair or are they an extention of yoiur bone?
my friends 20 year old doctor says hair but my 53 year old dad says bone. i just wana know!!!Are your nails made of hair or are they an extention of yoiur bone?
Fingernails and toenails are made of a tough protein called keratin. Are your nails made of hair or are they an extention of yoiur bone?
how can a dr be 20 years old? med school is more then 2-3 years lol nails are acurally made of skin cells from a growth plate at the base of your nail. During growth they die and the inside of the cells become filled with a hard protein called Keratin. keratin is one of the predominant proteins that make up hair. So, although fingernails are not made of 'stiff hair' they contain lots of keratin, just like strands of hair
Haha.Hair is made out of keratin and hair and nails are also made of keratin. So,You should be saying that hair is made of the same material as nails, not is nails made of hair.
Hope this helps :)
see i thought they were made of protein or something. but i would trust the doctor, no offense to ur dad
Neither are right. Its made of protein.

Can I put shelves up without using nails?
My landlord won't allow holes in the walls but I want some shelves to display my nice things. Are there any options available for me? I live in the UK by the way.Can I put shelves up without using nails?
Buy a bookshelf that rests on the floor and does not mount on the wall. Can I put shelves up without using nails?
Argos and some of the DIY shops ie B %26amp; Q etc sell sets of shelves that do not need any sort of fixing to the walls, but you would have to put them together as they come flat packed, so when you move on you can take them with you.
Use free standing shelves available from any DIY store.
And just for information you don't put shelves up with nails even if the landlord does allow holes in the wall. Use screws with the appropriate type of plug for solid or hollow walls.
Get a set of shelves or a bookcase that sits on the floor. Gluing shelves to the walls isn''t going to be any more acceptable to the landlord than nail holes would be.
oh you can purchase something called no more nails from b and q or what ever it is :L its just a really tough glue that gives the same strength as keeping the shelves up by nails so buy that :D
don't glue them on unless you want to break the things you put on them. Also they will pull chunks off the wall when you want to take them down. Free standing shelves are the solution
free standing has to be the answer

What can I do for the dry nails?
My nails are very dry although I have no vitamin deficiency. This is not related to pedicure and manicure because I always take care of my nails. I think it is more related to internal organ failures. What are the possibilities? Thanks. What can I do for the dry nails?

How do i stop my nail biting Habit?and how do i make my nails grow faster?
I'm with yah! I am trying t odo the same, and I just started yesterday
1. Maybe make a bet with your parents (if my nails grow this long give me _________.)
2. You can stick tape on your fingernails
3. Get the disgusting flavored polish (I don't reall reccommend that. You'll eat and your food will taste gross)
4. Wear gloves.
5. Paint your nails pretty and hope it won't make you bite
6. Chew gum so you focus on that.
7. Soak lemon juice on your hands so it won't taste good.
8. wear gloves so that you can't bite them.
9. Keep a toy in your pocket, and when you want to bite them, take it off.
They say it takes about 14 days to break or make habits, so it should take no less than 2 weeks, but could be more.
Biting your nails is very common and is a bad habit. I a mtrying to break mine, too. Good luckHow do i stop my nail biting Habit?and how do i make my nails grow faster?
they sell clear nail polish that has a nasty, nasty taste to it basically anywhere. you can find it at wal-mart, target, cvs, rite aid, etc. unfortunately, if you're a really bad nail biter, you learn to ignore the taste. another thing i suggest is that when you get the urge to bite, pop a piece of gum in your mouth. part of the nail biting is the satisfaction from chewing on something (gross, eh?) but that worked for me more than the nasty nail polish. once you stop biting, your nails will grow in better and faster, however the stores i mentioned above also sell nail growth treatments in the same section. How do i stop my nail biting Habit?and how do i make my nails grow faster?
It has been provent that it takes 14 days to make or break a habit.. so all you need to do is go a few weeks without biting them and you should be able to resist for good. Now the hard part, how to do that. There are many things you can try. You can get fake nails, use one of those nasty tasting polishes available at various stores, use lotion or polish remover on your nails each time you are tempted (again tastes nasty), run your fingers over a bar of soap so that soap gets under your nails (tastes nasty), and many more.
I had to do more than one to get myself to stop. I ended up puting an elastic on each wrist. Each time I thought about biting I would snap the elastic. Sometimes the temptation was a bit much, so I kept lotion is every room and in my purse/bag to use constantly. It helped make my hands soft as well as tastes disgusting. I also kept my hands busy.
Hope I have helped!

you need to be experienced and have an extremely good eye and a steady hand
i tried doing them myself and it just doesnt work at all
the hardest thing is doing your dominate hand. that is after you practice a lot! it is kinda like cutting our own hair. it usually looks like you did! if the motivation is to save money, then find a nail tech that you like and strike a long term maintaince type of deal with him or her.
i work iin a salon and our techs have several customers with this type of arrangement

Methods for how to stop biting your nails?
My friend constantly bites her nails despite trying many different things (including putting disguisting things on her fingers). Does anyone have any different ways to stop this? Methods for how to stop biting your nails?
Get a stress ball.. Carry it with you.
If this doesn't work, wear gloves and distract yourself from your nervousnessMethods for how to stop biting your nails?
The best way is to buy a special clear nail varnish that's specially for nail biters. So that when you put your nail in your mouth to bite it, it will leave a disgusting taste. I used to bite my nails and using this nail varnish hrlped me to stop. It really does work, tell your friend to try it. And it's only cheap and you can get it in most chemist's and drug stores.
Hope I helped x

okay will i have that same habit as well. What i had to do was put a rubber band on my wrist and when ever i felt the urge to bite i snapped it on my wrist..(it hast to hurt) so it would be like my own little punishment. and now i have good long healthy nails and sence also i have in infection it stoped me because it was all swollen and it hurt like hell. so that kinda stopped than i did rubberband and im good to go=]...and i got nerves thats how i got my nails for me to bite so wen ur taking a test or wen ur nerves rele chew gum it really does help=]
';My friend'; aka you? ;) Be aware of the habit and consciously stop yourself every time you raise your hands to your mouth. I know that sounds hard, but just promise yourself that you will make an effort to stop and really think about it every time you start to do it and you will eventually break the habit. I find that everyone I talked to who broke the habit did it by sheer willpower, so unfortunately there are no secret tricks. A tip, though: keep your nails coated in a clear polish. I find that if I have polish on and I unconsciously start to mess with my hands, I tend to go for the polish first, so it's like an additional layer between your mouth and your nails during which you can catch yourself and stop biting. Also, the polish protects your nails from chipping, and you may be tempted to bite to clean up hangnails and the like. On that note, you should also remember to do ANY AND ALL nail maintenance with nail clippers and files.
Tell Your Mum or sumthing To shout at you when you do it :L:P x
try buying hot balls to suck on i use to bit my nails in school, i just started sucking on candy and the bad habit went away
well, if u dont like hot sauce, cover them in hot sauce, or put on some bad tasting polish, so it'll be gross when u bite them. or you could go to the spa and get a pretty manicure and then u wont want to bite them bc they r pretty!
hope i helped!!
the only one i know is putting nail remover on it ha but again i have the same problem and i tryed stoping but its just a habit and same with cracking my nails ha...
As a habitual nail biter, I know how hard it can be to stop. Unfortunately, will power and a desire to stop is the only way to do it. Start off by reminding her of how dirty the underneath of your fingernails are- its actually pretty disgusting, when you think of the germs that accumulate under the nails. You DO NOT want that stuff in your mouth!
Something that I have tried that works well is to put on false nails. If your nails look pretty, you are less likely to want to bite them.
She could also try chewing gum.
Bite your fingers
sorry joking. Keep busy with a chewing gum
Try some meth
negative reinforcement, smack her every time she bites her nails.
Put tape on them.
Cutting your fingers and eating them.
Clear nail polish. Tastes yuck, too.
1) Chili paste
2) Stop'n'grow
3) Nail polish
4) Cut nails very short
5) Explain how when biting your nails you take in more germs than if you licked a public keyboard of toilet seat.
tell her guys are not attracted by females who have their habdsbin their mouth. Most guys can tell if you take of yourself by how your feet and hands *%26amp; nails Look. Plus it is unsanitary can cause you to be sick unless you wash your hand allday everyday.
cover them in acid
I'm 28 and I still do it....sorry...it's not the end of the world you know. Only fingernails....
Get braces on her teeth, I know this is a really dumb idea, but it worked for me. Cuz braces hurt sometimes so it makes it hard to bite nails. I used to put nail polish on my nails to prevent myself from biting it, because I didn't want to ruin the nail polish or eat it.
If she still bites no matter the yuck stuff, then you need to address the source: stress/anxiety?
Tell her to try meditation, there's great content on youtube and google video to get started.
But, like anything else, if she doesn't really wanna, there's no point in trying.
Tell him the hazards of byting nails without washing hands.. he will stop
or
encouraqge him to byte nails of feet too... ;)
Amputation, handcuffs, muzzles; there are many different ways.
Pliers. And a lot of codeine.
